Personal Responsibility

Action for the week:

Take full responsibility for your emotional state and well-being.

Absolutely, you have done this in may ways and on many occasions throughout your lifetime. We are taught to be responsible from the time we are very young. We go to school, we work, we maintain a household, dorm, apartment or some type of physical space. We pay bills, interact with our fellow human beings and live in a civilized society. We love and help one another as well.

Self-empowerment is a process by which you take full responsibility for your emotional state and well-being. The beauty of all this is that this is actually possible. You can take full responsibility for your emotional state and well-being. Unknowingly, we give up a bit of our personal power and weaken ourselves mentally and even physically at times. Have you ever been drained because of some else's actions or words?

I love this aspect of self-empowerment. What it means to me is that I am in charge of how I feel and how I react. I am in charge of my well-being and where I will end up. I am grateful that I am responsible! I have a say in all areas of my life. I knowingly can improve my life. I can consciously change for the better. No matter what is going on around me, big or small, I can move toward peace. This is powerful stuff!

We render ourselves powerless in many situations. We blind ourselves to solutions and peace. Of course this is not what we set out to do but it happens just the same. We give up our inherit ability to make our lives better and more peaceful.

This week I would like you to put on a new hat. One that symbolizes full ownership of your emotional state and well-being. To wear this hat you need to move through life a bit differently and own all your emotions. You need to understand what is happening within yourself and look for ways to feel better all on your own. Yes, all on your own.

You have everything you need to feel wonderful inside. What other people do should not leave you helpless. No matter what is going on around you, you can help yourself in some way. Reinforcing judgment, anger, guilt, resentment and the likes will do you little good. Make your emotional well-being a priority. Meditate, journal, pray, write, dance, release, let go of fear and drama...do what you need to do to make yourself well.

Remember, it is your life. You are responsible for yourself. Now make it what you want it to be! Do it with love unconditionally.
