International A&WMA Hosting Webinar Series on Coal Combustion Residuals
- First webinar starts Tuesday, July 17 -
The International Air & Waste Management Association (A&WMA) is hosting a three-part webinar series on Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR), with the first webinar in the series airing this Tuesday 7/17.  This is a cost-effective training opportunity for those with an interest in CCRs.

Utility folks, regulators and consultants in this area should take advantage of this opportunity.  The webinar can be viewed by many in one location with one person signing up.  The speakers are top notch, including the EPA Region 5 lead and national co-lead on CCRs, State regulatory folks, and industry people that are leading the path.
Coal Combustion Residuals: Past, Present, and Future Series
Get up to speed on the latest technical requirements and what you need to achieve state and federal compliance

This webinar series will open by tracing the history behind the development of regulation of coal combustion residuals that led to the cornerstone development of the April 17, 2015 federal rule that established minimum standards for regulated coal combustion residuals.

Additional material will cover the intervening events that led to a federal act to facilitate state oversight and site-specific tailoring.  This ultimately has brought US EPA to subsequent rulemaking requesting comments on further tailoring that was closed to comment on April 30, 2018.  Subsequently, owners,  operators and states have transitioned from compliance milestones to continued implementation of the rule under state or federal oversight.

Speakers will cover state strategies and EPA's process for implementing state and federal requirements.  The third webinar in the series will cover contrasting technical requirements in the rule against other state and federal regulatory programs.  Discussions will focus on what efforts are underway to bridge the gap through state authorizations, on-going rulemaking to incorporate flexibilities, and technical approaches.
