Please join us at the Auer Center for the presentation of "Food for Thought: An Indiana Harvest." Author David Hoppe and Photographer Kristin Hess will share their food journey around Indiana meeting and talking with local growers, chefs and food artisans.

Last Saturdays is a comprehensive approach to attract visitors downtown to experience the diverse social, arts, and cultural opportunities in our community. Last Saturdays is a great way for individual artists and organizations to share their message with a large, built-in audience and be part of creating more vibrancy in downtown Fort Wayne but honestly, it's a whole lot of fun. Arena Dinner Theatre: Busybody 



When:
Opening night is Friday, September 28
Where: Arena Dinner Theatre  

This hilarious play centers on a voluble cleaning woman who keeps telling the cops how to mind their business and who steps forward with the right evidence in every pinch. She lives in the basement of the office building she cleans and one night finds a body. By the time the police arrive, there is no body and no evidence. The wrong alarms are sent out, murdered men turn up alive, and the whole thing is chalked up to the cleaning woman's imagination until an unidentified body is discovered on a distant hill and the cleaning woman uncovers more evidence.

Grand Wayne Center: RNNC

Where: Grand Wayne Center 

 

Fort Wayne is hosting the RNNC in September 2012. The City of Fort Wayne is proud to recognize well over 400 neighborhood associations that are integral in cutting-edge  development, while honoring its small town. The RNNC was founded 25 years ago, when a group of community leaders decided to offer neighborhood presidents in the five-state region an alternative to the expensive national neighborhood conferences.

Where: Historic Fort Wayne

Join ARCH and celebrate the Fall Season at this family-friendly, fund-raising Fall Festival at Historic Fort Wayne, 1201 Spy Run Ave. Bring the family out to the Fort and enjoy carnival games, pumpkin bowling, raffle prizes, apple bobbing, food, drinks, and more! Rock 'N' Reel Film Festival


When:
Saturday, October 6, noon - midnight Where: Cinema Center

The daylong festival will feature five music documentaries in the theater, with additional documentaries and short films being screened in the Spectator Lounge (formerly Artlink gallery). At 10 p.m., following the last film, there will be a live performance by the indie rock band Timber and a wrap party catered by Calhoun Street Soups, Salads & Spirits (CS3). The party will include free hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar.

Parkview Field: Farmer's Market
   

 

When: Saturday, October 6, 9 a.m. - noon 
Where: Parkview Field

A grassroots effort of local market vendors are coming together for a weekly farmer's market at Parkview Field starting at 9 a.m. - noon, Saturday, Oct. 6. The market will be open every Saturday through May 9, on the first Saturday of each month. More than 25 local food, artists, and crafts vendors will fill the Lincoln Financial Event Center at Parkview Field with local produce items.

First Presbyterian:
Kennedy's Kitchen



When:
Sunday, October 7 at 2:00 p.m.
Where: First Presbyterian

Kennedy's Kitchen will perform at First Presbyterian Church at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 7, featuring songs, stories and music in the Irish manner on fiddle, tin whistle, guitar, bodhran, mandolin, banjo and bass.  This "toe-tapping, hand-clapping entertainment" is free.  A free-will offering will be accepted.

Civic: Celebrities Act Up

 Arts United Center  

The Fort Wayne Civic Theatre's annual fund-raiser production Celebrities Act Up: Fractured Fairy Tales Election 2012 Snow White vs. Pinocchio has the candidate Snow White and her campaign team (the seven dwarfs) scheming to defeat the incumbent Pinocchio, the President of Fairy Tale Land. Don't miss the opportunity to see local CEO's and community leaders in this hysterical comic skit performed as a stage reading with dinner, cocktails, silent and live auction!

The History Center: 
Allen County Innovation

 

 

Are you preparing for the "Allen County Innovation" gallery?  "Allen County Innovation" is the first total gallery make-over since the History Center opened in the former City Hall building at the corner of Berry and Barr in 1980. "Allen County Innovation" features the "History of Magnet Wire" and the stories of a number of historical and contemporary local companies, inventions and products that describe our community's inventive history and innovative entrepreneurial heritage.
