Welcome to Our Inaugural Newsletter
We at the International Lifeline Fund would like to take a moment to thank you for your generous support and showcase how you have helped us provide clean water and fuel-efficient stoves to some of the most vulnerable regions in the world.

PCIA 2011 Global Leadership Award
 This spring, the the United States Environmental Protection Agency's Partnership for Clean Indoor Air honored Lifeline's efforts in the fuel-efficient stove sector, for meeting social and behavioral needs, developing local markets, improving technology design, and monitoring impacts of intervention.

Ugandan Government recognizes Lifeline for Best Practices
 In March 2011, the local Lira District government, in Northern Uganda conducted spot checks of five water sources to monitor their functionality. Lifeline's Okello Amuku well was commended as the best managed of the five sites.

Lifeline to Haiti
Partners
In 2010, Lifeline partnered with the
UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN OCHA)
to produce 11,000 cook-stoves
benefiting approximately 55,000
displaced Haitians.
Lifeline has since expanded its Haitian cookstove initiative through several new partnerships, including with:
Caritas Austria, Trees Water People, The Adventure Project and
Development Alternatives Inc (DAI).

Commercialization
Together with our partners, 
Lifeline is launching a stove
commercialization pilot project
with the Zanmi Pye Bwa stove
(creole for 'Friend of the Trees').
Savings
With fuel savings that can exceed 40% and a minimum life of 1 year, the ZPB will be the foundation of our stove vendor project in Haiti.

Lifeline to Daadab, Kenya
Close to the Somali border, Dadaab hosts the
largest concentration of refugees in the world,
taking in over 300,000 predominantly Somali
refugees in the past two decades. Lifeline has
trained and mobilized a community of 31 refugee staff in two of the three Daadab refugee camps.
In 2010 we produced approximately 4,900 cook-stoves, benefiting some 27,000 Somali refugees. So far, in 2011, we have produced 3,000 cook-stoves benefiting 18,000 refugees.

Lifeline to Uganda
Since mid-2009, Lifeline has partnered with charity : water to drill 95 boreholes that are providing safe water for 56,000beneficiaries.
Of these 95 boreholes we have
drilled 20 boreholes in Gulu and Amuru in Northern Uganda partnership with
Invisible Children just this year.
We also recently partnered with Three Avocados to repair 5 non-functioning boreholes.
We have already completed 2 of the repairs which are filling
the clean water needs of 722 beneficiaries at a cost of just over $2 per person.

 In regards to our Stove program, over the last 18 months, Lifeline has produced, distributed, and sold more than 6,000 stoves in Northern Uganda through a network of 25 trained stove vendors. Read More About Our Progress in Uganda |

Successful Happy Hour @ Chi Cha Lounge!
 Lifeline kicked off the Summer Happy Hour Series at Chi-Cha Lounge Thursday June 23rd. The two-hour event raised $1,030 for our fuel-efficient stove programs. Many thanks to our wonderful supporters!
