Wickford Art Association
Introducing Our New Gallery Director
Judy Salvadore, Gallery Director

After an extensive search and a rigorous interview process, the Board of Directors is pleased to announce the hiring of Judy Salvadore as our new Gallery Director.

A nine-year member of the Wickford Art Association, Judy is no stranger to the organization.  She has been an enthusiastic volunteer both for the festival and in the gallery, and has been an active member of the Photographic Arts Group since 2007.

Judy earned a stellar reputation for her leadership and organizational skills as the Director of the 52nd and 53rd Wickford Art Festivals, and there's little doubt she'll bring those skills and dedication to her new role as Gallery Director.

"I am thrilled to be hired as Gallery Director, and I'm ready to start working with the board on the immediate needs and long-term goals of the association. The future of the Wickford Art Association is bright and I'm excited about the possibilities, but I can't do it alone.  I'll need the help of my many friends who have so generously volunteered their time and talents in the past, so please expect a call from me."

Judy's love for the arts began at an early age in the Studio Art Program at The Wheeler School. After graduating from Boston University with a degree in Fine Arts, she began a 25-year career as co-owner of a small jewelry manufacturing business where she was the lead designer. In addition to art, Judy is also passionate about animals. For almost 20 years she has given countless hours as a volunteer, board member, President, event planner, and fundraiser for the Friends of the Warwick Animal Shelter.  Her unique combination of experience in the arts, business management and non-profit leadership make Judy the perfect choice to help lead the Wickford Art Association into the future.

"Although I consider myself a photographer, I was originally trained in metalsmithing. Over the years I've taken classes in painting, glass, encaustic and ceramics, gaining great appreciation for all art forms.  Part of the mission of the Wickford Art Association is to 'educate, encourage and inspire', and I will do all I can to help our members reach their full potential as artists."

Please join us in welcoming Judy as our new Gallery Director, and make her feel at home. And when she calls upon you to help, please respond by saying "yes"!
