Updated Letter head
Greetings!

During this holiday season, we find people the world over, with diverse beliefs, celebrating life.    It seems now more than ever there is a focus on the dream, wish, prayer or yearning for "Peace On Earth."  It is with this in mind that we are writing to share with you our exciting new work in creating safer and more vibrant communities.

We have founded the River Phoenix Center for Peacebuilding in Gainesville, Florida, honoring River's dedication and his courageous contribution to the well-being of the planet and all life.  His ideas were positive, forward thinking and solution-based to address concerns as relevant when he was alive as they are today and RPCP is dedicated to following this path.

It is often said that conflict is inevitable; we agree.  But we do not agree that violence is inevitable.  Through education, training and practice, people can move through life's challenges by the introduction of a number of nonviolent options.

A sampling of some of our programs and services we offer:
  • Peer Mediation
  • Communication Skill Building
  • Youth Empowerment and
    • Communication & Self Esteem Programs
  • Restorative Justice
  • Parenting Classes
  • Mediation Services
  • Men and Women - In Healing Dialogue
Not only is Gainesville our home town, but with a population of under 150,000, we have direct access to a wide range of stakeholders in the community.  Through partnering and collaborating with local organizations, schools, governmental agencies, businesses and the faith-based community, we believe that we will have the greatest impact by providing and promoting the best practices of peacebuilding. One of our goals is to create a replicable model to be offered in communities and cities within the U.S. and beyond.

We invite you to step with us through this doorway into our next stage of development, as a partner, in this most important work, at this critical time in history, for the safety and dignity of all life.  Any contribution at any level, will be greatly appreciated!

Wishing you a wonderful holiday season, happy new year and a peaceful heart.

With Deep Gratitude,

Heart, Dot, Jeffrey and Liberty
