Tourism Calgary's AGM
On May 27th, Tourism Calgary released its 2016 Annual Report  at the Annual General Meeting.

In 2016, Calgary welcomed more than 7.2 million visitors to our city, contributing an estimated $1.6 billion to the local economy through spending at local attractions, restaurants, hotels, shops, festivals and events.

In addition to a report on 2016 activities and a look forward to the second half of 2017, the AGM featured a keynote presentation by Peter KageyamaPeter is the author of For the Love of Cities: The Love Affair Between People and Their Places and Love Where You Live: Creating Emotionally Engaging Places. He challenged us to think about our relationship with our city as a two-way street, rather than only considering what the city is doing for us.

The AGM also included Mayor Nenshi's white-hatting of outgoing Board Chair Rod McKay, who has been a dedicated advocate of our organization over the past five years.
