2018 MACE Annual Conference

Last week some ICCE members had the opportunity to experienced another successful MACE conference. A special thank you to Robin Anderson with the Mason City Area Chamber for her leadership in 2017/2018 as the MACE Chair and for making this a great conference for everyone in attendance.

The annual MACE Conference was held May 2-4, 2018 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The Conference offered great speakers and networking with regional states, Minnesota, Nebraska, South & North Dakota, Wisconsin and Iowa. Over 149 MACE members were in attendance with 20 ICCE members representing Iowa. Congratulations to Mike Hofman, Orange City Chamber, and Kativa Weitzel, Mason City Area Chamber, for receiving MACE Scholarships and Sadie Trytten for receiving an ICCE Scholarship.

MACE also recognized award winners in 5 different categories. Iowa had 3 winners – Mason City Area Chamber, for Public Policy of the Year, Downtown Des Moines Chamber, for Event of the Year, and Tiffany Menke, Urbandale Chamber, for Executive of the Year . In addition, the Greater Manchester Area Chamber was nominated for Digital Campaign and the Mason City Area Chamber was nominated for Publication of the Year . Congratulations to all our winners and nominees. The MACE conference is a great way to showcase the great Chambers and ICCE members from Iowa.

ICCE is working with the Greater Des Moines Partnership to welcome ACCE members to Des Moines. Please help us by volunteering to welcome over 1,000 ACCE members. See the letter from ACCE with conference information, the cost of joining ACCE and the cost of the conference.

ICCE wants to wish Linda Washburn, Executive Director with the Glenwood Area Chamber, the very best as she moves on to a new opportunity. Linda was a long time ICCE Member and was a past ICCE Board Member as well as a past ICCE Chair. Please take time to congradulate Linda and wish her well in her new endeavor as she leaves the Chamber of Glenwood after 18 years of service.

REGIONAL MEETINGS
Thank you to each region for holding these informational meetings. Please continue to schedule and confirm meeting dates, times and locations with Shar Pardubsky, ICCE Executive Director. These meetings are known to be very informative for everyone and some regions are holding meetings every other month. They are a great opportunity to meet and discuss issues within your region as well as within your Chamber.

Fall Conference

Watch for information regarding the 2018 ICCE Fall Conference hosted by the Centerville/Rathbun Chamber at Honey Creek Resort. The Conference committee is working to confirm the speakers and the program. 

Natalie Close, Executive Director with the Centerville/Rathbun Chamber has planned a great time on the lake to see some great history in the Centerville area. Mark your calendars now!
