Saint Patrick's Day Festivities Offered All Day on Friday, March 17, in Kamm's Corners
 
From early morning Irish breakfasts to live bands performing into the night, Kamm's Corners is THE place to celebrate Saint Patrick's Day, before and after the big parade downtown, which starts at 1:04 p.m. at the intersection of Superior Avenue and East 18th Street. See the new parade route and tips for enjoying it, here.

Remember to "go green" in more ways than one by leaving your car at home. Use public transit, Uber, Lyft, or walk to Kamm's Corners' pubs and restaurants. If you must drive, please park in the municipal parking lot behind Walgreens or other legal parking areas. Cars will be towed from Kamms Plaza by Marc's if their drivers are not shopping at Marc's. Stay safe!

Irish Jig & Jog Benefits West Park Seniors on Saturday, March 25 

Friends and family are welcome to participate in "Irish Jig & Jog," a 5k race and 1-mile walk through Kamm's Corners, on Saturday, March 25, at 10 a.m. The event begins and ends at West Park Station, 17015 Lorain Avenue, which is the host and title sponsor of this sixth annual racing event. Proceeds from the race will benefit the Senior Services Fund of KCDC.

West Park's 8th Annual, The Hooley on Kamm's Corners™  kicks off at noon on Saturday, May 13, and runs until 8 p.m. on Lorain Avenue. It's a day of live music, festival food, entertainment, and activities for all ages, and is presented by our organization: Kamm's Corners Development Corporation . Lorain Avenue will be closed to traffic from West 165th Street to Rocky River Drive.

Little Free Library Opens at Gunning Recreation Center: Grand Opening on Saturday, March 25

Many in the community have donated books, games, and art supplies to help a local family set up a Little Free Library for use by seniors and children who frequent Gunning Recreation Center, 16700 Puritas Avenue.

Cleveland International Film Festival (CIFF) program guides are being distributed now. As a Community Outreach Sponsor, KCDC is offering a limited number of film vouchers on a first come, first served basis to our followers who respond to contests on Facebook and Twitter. Follow us for announcements on how to try for the vouchers. In addition, by using our special code, KAMMSC, you will get a $2 discount for each ticket purchased. 

Tickets are now being sold to CIFF members and will be available to everyone else on March 17, starting at 11 a.m. Film tickets are $14 each for members and $16 each for non-members. Become a member now, here.

Women's Classic Softball League Seeks Players 45+ to Sign Up 

Enjoy the fun in a new women's league, where there are no standings, no scorekeeper, and no playoffs. Single games will be played on Monday evenings in the Metroparks beginning in early June for eights weeks. Players are placed by position and skill level, with a minimum of 10 players per team. Instead of team registrations, players register individually for $35 per player. The fee covers games, ball, and league t-shirt.

Angels on the Avenue, an acting troupe with several members residing in West Park, will present Dead Men Tell No Tales on Saturday, March 25,

Join the Gunning Gators in a community spring clean up at Gunning Park Recreation Center, 16700 Puritas Avenue, on March 25, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The Gators are a non-profit sports group comprised of cheerleaders and football players ages 6 to 16 who play at the center. The West Park Family YMCA presents a Bunny Hop 5K Run and 2-Mile Walk on Saturday, April 15, with the start and finish at the Y, 15501 Lorain Avenue. Registration details and  awards are on the form, here.
