Lent begins, final week for PIPPIN Ad & Patron Drive, 2016-17 Registration
THE IRISH TIMES
Week of February 7-13
Mrs. Heather Crisci, Principal
Dear Parents:
Thank you for all of your well wishes during Catholic Schools Week.  We had a wonderful week, celebrated Mass as a community and took the time to celebrate both our faculty and students.  I'd like to thank you for supporting our Catholic school.  It really does make a difference in all we do each day.

Last Friday, parents of students in grades 9, 10, and 11 should have received a course selection email for your student.  This email has a link to the course selection form.  Please complete course selection with your students. They have been given information in school about courses and what should be selected.  As a reminder, our staff will review all placements to be sure that students have met the minimum requirements in grades and prerequisites for each course.

If you did not receive a course selection email, please first check your spam folders.  You may email our registrar at  [email protected] with any questions.

This week, we will celebrate Mass once again as a school community on Ash  Wednesday.  On Ash  Wednesday, our Dining Hall will be serving a simple lunch of soup and bread.  If your student has any other dietary needs, please be sure to PACK A LUNCH on  Wednesday, February 10.  We WILL NOT accept any food deliveries to school.  We thank you in advance for your cooperation.

As a reminder, each  Friday during Lent is meatless, and our Dining Hall menu will reflect that.

Have a wonderful week,
Heather Crisci
Principal

ACTION ALERT
T he issue of nonpublic school transportation is the top priority of our budget advocacy efforts at this time.  The per-pupil allotment for transportation has been frozen at $884.00 since 2008.  THIS MUST BE INCREASED in the next budget, or the future of many of our Catholic schools, who rely heavily on this transportation, will be in jeopardy.

We are told by those who work in the Governor's office that, at this stage, there is strength in numbers, and that the number of letters, emails, and phone calls made to the Governor's office does have a bearing on which issues get the greatest attention. Please review the below linked document and information sheet.  Let us all join with great enthusiasm in prayer and ACTION, so that 2016 may be the year in which the freeze on nonpublic transportation may be lifted.

THANK YOU!
