CHLOE POTILLO NETS 100 GOALS AT TROOPER CULLEN DEDICATION GAME
The girls lacrosse team honored fallen NJ State Trooper Sean Cullen and his family last Wednesday for their game vs. Cherry Hill East. Trooper Cullen's fiance Aryn McCormick, a 2002 CCHS graduate and former CCHS lacrosse assistant coach attended the game with son Seamus. The team presented them with gifts and donated funds raised at the snack stand to the family. It was an emotional tribute which was greatly appreciated by the family. The article was covered by Phil Anastasia at the Philadelphia Inquirer.

CCHS SUPPORT OF "GO4THEGOAL" FEATURED ON NCEA BLOG
Founded by the family of CCHS student Richard Stefanacci, who passed from cancer as a freshman at CCHS, the Go4TheGoal Foundation raises funds and awareness in support of the battle against pediatric cancer. Since its inception, Camden Catholic students have been great supporters of the work of Go4TheGoal.

Uniform Reminder: Please remind your children that if they are cold now that we are in summer uniform, they must wear their school sweater with their golf shirt. Students can receive dress code demerits for wearing sweatshirts or jackets. Also a reminder for the female students who opt out of the tights that the regulation ankle socks are the white CC socks for freshmen, sophomore, and juniors; seniors were granted permission to wear plain white ankle socks.
Student Belongings & Money: Please remind your children to keep careful watch over their personal belongings. In recent weeks, a number of purses and other personal items were submitted to lost & found with money in them and no identification. Students should not carry large sums on money to school with them.
Underclassmen Attending Senior Prom: This is a reminder to all parents who have underclassmen attending the Senior Prom on June 1. All underclassmen are expected to be in school for a full day on June 1; no early dismissals will be permitted for hair, nail appointments, etc. These students should also be in school on June 2.
Attention Senior Parents: On June 1 the seniors will report to homeroom by 8:15 am. The senior breakfast will take place before graduation practice. Students not reading or having a specific role at Baccalaureate Mass or Commencement will be dismissed at approximately noon; students with specific roles will be required to stay longer. Please consider this time when advising your children in making nail, hair, etc. appointments in preparation for prom that evening.
We need your gently used uniform items. Please consider donating uniform kilts, pants, polos, ties, blouses/dress shirts and sweater after your child has graduated.
NO BLAZERS, please.

The 4 by 200 meter relay team of Jamal Parker, Marcus Hillman, Vinny Maine, and Kyrel Gregory finished in 5th place.
The Sprint Medley relay team of Jamal Parker, Marcus Hillman, Vinny Maine, and Myjere Evans finished in 2nd place.
The Long Jump relay team of Marcus Hillman and Myjere Evans finished in 3rd place.

HIGH SCHOOL NIGHT AT THE PHILLIES: STUDENTS, PARENTS & TEACHERS
Go behind-the-scenes with the Philadelphia Phillies major league baseball team during our 2016 Phillies High School Night Series (www.phillies.com/highschool) on Friday, May 20 taking place in the media room at Citizens Bank Park. Check-in begins at 4pm with the program officially beginning at 5pm, followed by the Phillies-Braves game at 7:05 pm.
The cost is $30.00 for a ticket to the game (Pavilion Section) + $12.00 concession coupon. Purchase tickets: www.phillies.com/highschool.
Highlights include:
- A special welcome from a Philadelphia Phillies player.
- A question-and-answer session led by Phillies broadcaster Tom McCarthy. Taking part in the behind-the-scenes discussion will be executives from the Phillies scouting, marketing and community outreach department. Each will discuss their roles in the Phillies organization and provide mentoring advice to high school students.Among the speakers (subject to change): John Brazer, Director, Publicity; Rob Holiday, Director, Amateur Scouting Administration; Mary Ann Moyer, Director, Community Initiatives; and Rob MacPherson, Director, Corporate Partnerships.
- Take #selfies with the World Series Trophies; plus meet the Phillies Ballgirls!
- Cheer on the Phillies with a ticket to that night's game with seating on the popular Scoreboard Porch (a ticket value of $30). Ticket price includes $12 worth of concession credit that can be redeemed throughout the ballpark for food, beverage and/or merchandise. The cost for each Phillies High School Night Series event is $30. There will be a maximum of 200 students per event.

We have another request for all parents to contact the appropriate legislators on the Senate and Assembly Budget Committees. This is another attempt to reach as many legislators as possible with our requests for nonpublic funding. The months of April, May, and early June are crucial to this effort.
Below are the key "asks" of the nonpublic school community re: the Governor's 2016-2017 budget. This message should be sent to the below listed members of the appropriate committees by email:
Dear
I am writing to ask that you restore the 6.8 % nonpublic school reduction in funding in the Governor's Fiscal Year 2017 Budget. Specifically, I ask that you restore the Nonpublic School Security Aid Program to at least $25.00 per pupil, and that you increase the $884.00 per pupil allotment for Nonpublic School Transportation Aid. This allotment has been frozen since 2008. Additionally, please restore Nonpublic School Nursing Service Aid to $94.00 per pupil and Nonpublic School Technology Initiative to $40.00 per pupil. Such increases are greatly needed by nonpublic school students whose parents save the taxpayers of the state of New Jersey a great deal of money each year.

Specifically, the Nonpublic School Security Program was totally eliminated; the per pupil amounts for nursing services and technology were reduced. The per-pupil amount for nonpublic school transportation remained frozen at $884.00 - an amount that has been frozen for nine years.
We need your voice to tell the State Legislators who are on the Budget Committees to restore the funding for the Nonpublic School Security Program and to increase funding for nonpublic nursing services to $94.00 per pupil and nonpublic technology aid to $40.00 per pupil.
You will be directed to the Action Center with two template letters describing the issues. All you have to do is sign the letters. The letters will be directed to the state legislators that serve the district in which you live, according to your zip codes.

IMPORTANT DINING HALL ANNOUNCEMENT
Starting on Monday, May 9th students must have cash or monies in their "myschoolbucks" accounts to buy food during breakfast and lunch. Often times the cashiers in our dining hall allow the students to purchase a lunch even if the student may be short a few cents or dollars. The cashiers keep a log in which they write down the name and how much the student owes. Then they collect the money owed from those students. With the end of the year quickly approaching the cashiers will no longer be able to do this for the students. During the month of June it is recommended that all students use the balance in their myschoolbucks account and then bring cash to purchase food from the dining hall. Thanks for your understanding and cooperation.
All seniors must use their monies on the My School Bucks system. Please have your senior students spend all their money on their cards for lunches in the next few weeks. Any unused monies will not be returned or transferred to a sibling.

- Camp Psych - Campers will get hands-on experiences that introduce them to research in psychology during this fun, challenging, and engaging introduction to the field.
- Government Leadership Camp - This program is designed for students who have a passion for understanding American government to engage in small discussions, attend college-level lectures, and participate in debates, simulations, and field trips.
- Writing Camp - Students gain an in-depth introduction to all four genres of creative writing: fiction, poetry, nonfiction, and writing for stage and screen.
- 3D Object Modeling and Printing Camp - Students will study 3D object modeling and printing starting with the basics of a 3D printer. After learning the fundamentals, they will practice designing objects.

It is very important that students/parents understand that with the new test, the official scores from the Fall test dates may not be published in time to meet the Early Decision Deadlines or the individual College/University Scholarship Deadlines.

- CROC Center: currently looking for teens who can commit to at least 20 hours of volunteer service/one shift per week in the Kroc Kids after-school program. Teens are needed after-school Monday through Thursday between the hours of 3:15pm to 8:00pm. Teens must be able to volunteer a minimum of two hours the day they volunteer. They help with sports, homework, serving meals, crafts, clean up and more. All teen volunteers have to be at least 16 years of age to be considered. In addition to a volunteer interview, volunteers are reference and background checked. Email Dawn Garlic, Volunteer Services Manager: [email protected].

Mount Laurel Baseball, the community based non-profit baseball organization serving Mount Laurel, has community service hour opportunities, primarily involving volunteer work at our concession stand, every midweek evening beginning at 5:45 p.m. and all day on Saturdays. The season runs from April 11 through the beginning of June. They also will have two long weekends in June for summer hours if they work for students seeking service hours in the summer. The students would not be involved in opening or closing the concession, just help at the counter. Any time that can be provided by students will be greatly appreciated. Additionally, they have service opportunities, although not as many available hours, for field maintenance and repairs throughout the Spring. Having students providing community service will greatly unburden the parents who put in a substantial amount of time and effort with our other activities in keeping our organization alive and productive for the community.
