REMINDERS FROM THE OFFICE OF STUDENT AFFAIRS:
Uniform Exchange
: All students are reminded that we will be transitioning into Winter Uniform on November 1. This means that buttoned down shirts/blouses, ties, tights, and sweaters are mandatory. In preparation for this transition, we will have a uniform exchange on October 17 and 18. On October 17, students are asked to bring in gently used uniform items that they can no longer wear and then on October 18 students may take any items that they need.
LATE TO SCHOOL REMINDER
Late students should be dropped off at the back door (location C2) and report directly to Mrs. Madden in 114. This is also the same procedure for a student who returns back to school after an early dismissal (doctors appt, college visit, etc.).
Canned Food Drive Reminder
During the entire month of October, we are having a school wide canned food drive. The canned food drive is designed to help the needy, as well as help each class accrue points toward Spirit Week. Students can bring in canned food products and deliver them to their moderator's classroom. Freshman moderator's classroom is 112, sophomore moderator's classroom is 127, junior moderator's classroom is 232, and senior moderator's classroom is 210. We encourage all to participate!
SENIOR HALLOWEEN COSTUME DAY - OCTOBER 31 - REGULATIONS (Seniors Only)
The Class of 2017 will be permitted to dress up in Halloween costumes on October 31. They are expected to abide by the following stipulations. A separate sheet with these directives will be forwarded to the senior homerooms for distribution to each senior.
WE WANT INTERESTING COSTUMES. STUDENTS SHOULD HAVE LEGITIMATE COSTUMES THAT CAN BE EASILY RECOGNIZED WITHOUT THE USE OF THE PROHIBITED ITEMS LISTED BELOW. STUDENTS SHOULD CONSIDER DEVELOPING A THEME WITH THEIR FRIENDS OR DESIGN THEIR OWN UNIQUE & TASTEFUL COSTUME.
UNACCEPTABLE COSTUME EXAMPLES:
JEANS & A T-SHIRT - CLAIMING TO BE A PUBLIC SCHOOL STUDENT
ATHLETIC GEAR - CLAIMING TO BE A SPORTS FAN
FOR SAFETY, SECURITY & MODESTY REASONS THE FOLLOWING ITEMS CAN NOT BE PART OF ANY COSTUME :
- MASKS OF ANY KIND/FACE PAINT THE COVERS YOUR WHOLE FACE
- SWORDS, KNIVES, CLUBS, BOWS & ARROWS OR ANY OTHER WEAPONS
- CLOTHING THAT DOES NOT COVER YOU APPROPRIATELY (TANK OR HALTER TOPS, BARE BACKS OR MIDRIFFS, OR TOGAS) OR THAT PROMOTES NEGATIVE RELIGIOUS, RACIAL OR POLITICAL TONES.
- NO ROLLER BLADES, SKATE BOARDS, CARTS OR ANY TYPE OF VEHICLE
- IN LIGHT OF RECENT CONTROVERSIES AND ONGOING LAW ENFORCEMENT SCRUTINY, CLOWN COSTUMES ARE NOT PERMITTED.
SENIORS SHOULD REMEMBER THEY ARE REPRESENTING THEIR CATHOLIC SCHOOL. MODESTY & DECENCY ARE A MUST. WE WANT THEM TO HAVE FUN NOT TO BE SENT HOME FOR AN INAPPROPRIATE COSTUME.
IF SENIORS OPT TO NOT DRESS IN COSTUME, THEY MUST WEAR THEIR UNIFORMS.
