"We're excited to collaborate with the Stark Education Partnership in strengthening our bridge between middle school and high school," Jeanne McNeal, Oakwood Principal, explained. "Emma Clark, our College and Career Guide, will work with students to support them in learning more about their strengths and interests and will explore the rich academic and career-focused opportunities at the high school. Our objective is for students to set a goal and a purpose to their school work."

"I wish I had a College and Career Guide when I was in middle school," added Emma, a graduate of Johnson University. "I would have had a deeper look into my interests and career choices."

College and Career Guides work one-on-one with students to: research education and/or work  pathways; register and prepare for ACT/SAT; apply for College Credit Plus; apply to college; 

apply for financial aid and scholarships; and facilitate student visits to local college campuses and/or businesses.

Tyler Triner, currently in graduate school at Walsh University, is serving for a second year at Alliance High School. "I'm looking forward to seeing 'my juniors' return to build on the work we did together last year."

Kara Kimevski, currently in graduate school at Malone University, serves in the Massillon City School District. "I want to make a difference by helping the students at Washington High School."

Alissa Kiefer, a graduate of Ohio University, is returning to her alma mater, McKinley High School.  "I'm looking forward to working with students who are growing up in Canton, as I did, and helping them to find a pathway to a successful future."

AmeriCorps, Alliance City School District, Canton City School District, College Now of Greater Cleveland, Massillon City School District, Plain Local School District and ServeOhio - along with the Stark Education Partnership - support the work of the Ohio College Guides.
