DOE Recommends Decreased Testing

Richard Ross, Ohio's Department of Education Superintendent of Public Instruction recommends decreased testing. According to a recent comprehensive report, "the amount of time students spend on testing can be reduced by nearly twenty percent..."

SPARK Students in Stark County Score Higher on Kindergarten Readiness Measure       

    

SPARK (Supporting Partnerships to Assure Ready Kids) has been working collaboratively with schools to support children ages 3-6 and their parents get ready for kindergarten. 2013 KRA-L Scores[1] were released for participants in Alliance, Canton, Massillon, and Minerva. Children in SPARK scored significantly higher on the KRA-L than children not in SPARK.
