PSAT to Serve as Ohio's College and Career Ready Assessment

Students Taking a TestThe College Board's PSAT (Preliminary SAT) will serve as Ohio's college and career readiness assessment for 10th graders this October. However, the results will not be used for college admissions, placement or course grades, according to the Ohio Department of Education (ODE).

In outlining the purpose of the test, State Superintendent Dr. Richard A. Ross noted in a press release last month[1] that, "Too many students move through high school and graduate without ever knowing if they are really prepared for what comes next, By taking the PSAT, sophomores will get feedback on their strengths and weaknesses while there is still time to make changes if needed."

The PSAT was selected via a competitive procurement managed by the Ohio Department of Administrative Services.
