Stark State College Continues to Grow While Ohio Enrollment Drops

The Ohio Board of Regents has released its Preliminary Fall 2011 Headcount[1] for public colleges and universities. Stark State College (SSC) added another 702 students to reach 15,536 students while overall enrollment in the state decreased 4,410.

Of 61 state colleges, universities and branches, 35 saw enrollment losses and two remained the same. Among the 24 state institutions that did increase their enrollment, SSC ranks only behind Kent State University, The Ohio State University and the University of Cincinnati in actual number of students gained.

No state institution, two or four year, matches SSC's overall enrollment increase of 82% since 2007.
