Walsh Celebrates Entrepreneurs 

The students at Walsh University's DeVille School of Business will
be celebrating Entrepreneurship Week from April 7 to 11 with a variety of programs. Many are open to the public without charge, unless noted.

Near Peer College Advisors Connect with Students

  

Timken's "United Way College Connector" is Chris Deschaine, a graduate of University of Maine, an experienced middle school teacher and career college instructor. Chris's efforts include helping a student to submit emancipation credentials in order to qualify for increased financial aid.

 

At McKinley, Takisha Morgan, a graduate of University of Mount Union, is the Americorps Ohio "College Guide." A senior student came to her office saying that she didn't want to go to college far from home. When Takisha related her own story of leaving home and living on campus the student gained the courage to apply to 4 year universities and received significant scholarships based on her academic record.

 

Nicole Funk, an alumna of University of Mount Union returned to Alliance High School as the College Guide. Nikki encouraged an ambivalent student to move forward, apply to Stark State and file her FAFSA.

 

Zean Chen, a native of Pittsburgh, and a graduate of Boston College is the College Guide at Massillon's Washington High School. Zean supported a student in raising his sights to apply to Case Western. His application has been accepted and he finalizing applications for financial aid.
