Mount Union and Kent State Stark again awarded "Tree Campus USA" status by the Arbor Day and Toyota Foundations

Tree Campus USA
It's a repeat for the University of Mount Union and a three-peat for Kent State Stark.

Both schools have once again received recognition from the Arbor Day Foundation[1] for their commitment to effective forestry management and environmental stewardship.

Colleges and universities who are designated Tree Campus USA schools must meet five standards which include establishing an advisory committee, campus tree care plan and program, Arbor Day observance, and service learning projects.[2]

Tree Campus USA
is a partnership between the Arbor Day and Toyota Foundations. Only 148 schools across the nation and eight in Ohio received this designation in 2011.
