Stark and Three Other Counties Lead State in Dual Enrollment As Ohio looks for ways to increase college access, four counties lead the state in the number of high school students who already take college courses. A report by the Ohio Board of Regents late last year, Enrollment by County of Residence at Time of Admission for Fall 2009, notes that the state leaders are Cuyahoga-1,832, Lorain-1,375, Stark-1,338 and Lucas-1,206. The state total for the 2009-10 academic year was 19,168 at Ohio public colleges and universities. Over 100 students in Stark County also took courses at private institutions in addition to these numbers.
