Stark College Going Rate Climbs Higher       

The direct college going rate increased in Stark County from 49% in 2001 to 60% in 2010 - a 22% rate of increase. By spring 2011, 66% of the class of 2010 had enrolled - a 35% rate of increase.

Malone, Mount Union and Walsh Ranked Among the Best Midwest Colleges and Universities
 Three Stark College Students

When the U.S. News and World Report released its 2012 rankings of America's Best Colleges [1] on Tuesday, Stark County's three private universities were ranked among the best in the Midwest.

 

The University of Mount Union ranked 10th among regional colleges and Malone University ranked 58th and Walsh University 72nd among regional universities. Schools are placed in one of ten categories based on their mission and range of program offerings.

 

Rankings are based on 16 measures of academic excellence. Top colleges are those that rank from 1 to 114 in their respective categories. These schools are followed by a second tier of institutions.  

 

Tuesday was the 28th edition of the rankings which features over 1,600 schools.
