I t Ain't Bragging! 4/25/17

40  And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.

41  Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the passover.

42  And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast.

43  And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it.

44  But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day's journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance.

45  And when they found him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him.

46  And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.

47  And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.

48  And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.

49  And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?

I returned home yesterday, after a VERY successful day of Cross Planting!

My dear friend and fellow minister from Minnesota was in town and together we planted a 30 foot Cross at JOSHUA'S PLACE, a wonderful Church in Jackson, GA.

I returned last evening to a thoughtful question poised by an eleven year old child, Nathan (Boo Boo) Hill:

" WHY WERE NOT ADAM AND EVE CREATED AS CHILDREN?"

And the second question equally amazing:

" DID ADAM AND EVE GO TO HEAVEN OR HELL?"

I believe the grandmother's answer is the most thoughtful and correct:

"Speaking at his level, I told him maybe God needed Adam and Eve to be grownups so they could take care of His Garden.

Nathan watches his Granddaddy take care of our garden and understood this because it takes hard work."

Jesus wisely said:

Matthew 21:16 (KJV)
16  And said unto him, Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus saith unto them, Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?

As to the young man's second question, I believe the only one who can ascertain that is God Himself!!!

Romans 14:4 (KJV)

4  Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.

The is only "ONE lawgiver, Who is able to save and destroy..."

James 4:12 (KJV)

12  There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?

That ONE lawgiver is NOT you and me!!!

God says:

Isaiah 55:8-9 (KJV)

8  For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD
.
9  For as  the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Jesus said:

Luke 18:17 (KJV)

17
Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.

As to the first question, I add this:

" WHAT CAME FIRST-THE CHICKEN OR THE EGG???"

MY answer is the chicken!!

BUT....................................

It could just as easily been the egg BECAUSE God is able:

Ephesians 3:20 (KJV)

20
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

Only God know HOW and WHY!!!

In closing, please allow me to ask one further question-the same question God asked Job:

Job 38:4 (KJV)

4  Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.

Our God has only one "problem!"

God REALLY believes He is God!!!

To quote the late Dizzy Dean:

" IT AIN'T BRAGGING IF YOU CAN DO IT!!"

GOD BLESS YOU!
