April is National Poetry Month!
National Poetry Month is a literary celebration which is celebrated all over the world by millions of people. The purpose of this holiday is to mark the importance of poetry in our lives and to remember the great poets who created this poetry. This holiday started in the 1990s, due in part to the successful celebrations of Women's History Month in March and Black History Month in February.

T o celebrate we are filling our Marker's Space with  all the words and inspiration you will need to create a poem of your own!

Librarian's Corner

March just flew by and we are looking forward to a busy April, May, and then on to Summer! Here's what's happening and what's ahead in the near future.

Books
We are in the process of weeding out old books to make room for the new arrivals.  And we continue to add new arrivals from Amazon, The New York Times best seller's lists, and also from patron requests. If you haven't been to the library in a while, please stop by and see what's new-our selections are updating all the time!

We received a generous donation of children's hardcover books from the MOMS Club of Loomis. We can't thank them enough for their continued generosity and support.
Staff
It is wonderful to have our two part-time assistants, Susan and Debora. Their presence in the library enables me to do outreach, assessment and planning for the Summer Reading Programs.

 Magazines
We are now offering new magazines for check out! Titles include People, Time, National Geographic, Nat Geo Kids, and more!

Summer Reading Program
We are in the final stages of putting together the Summer Reading Program. We are looking forward to a summer filled with fun and challenging ways to foster your love of reading ~ for all ages! More to come later in the month.

Volunteers
I'm so thankful for the continued support that comes from the many volunteers who donate their time and talent to make our Library and Community Learning Center such a special place. We couldn't do it without you!
