Westchester Dream House Tour
Hunter Douglas Seminar

I had the pleasure of attending a special viewing of this beautiful showhouse located at The Residences at The Ritz-Carlton, Westchester. A 5400 sq ft penthouse had been fully decorated with merchandise from area businesses. Breathtaking views of the City to the Sound are seen from the floor to ceiling windows on the 19th floor.

Paula Bongartz, a marketing consultant from Hunter Douglas, gave a wonderful presentation on Trends, Color & Light for a select group of designers. Me and Paula are pictured below!

911 Museum
NYC
My annual dedication to honoring the victims from 911, included a visit to the 911 Museum, located on the actual site of where the twin towers once resided.

It was a humbling experience to walk the foot print of these buildings, viewing the remains of the steel footings that have been preserved, and see bent pieces of steel and structural pieces.

Crisp Fall Weather

The weather is still great in the Fall and there is so much to do outside! We love to go boating in the cooler weather on the Hudson river, near where we live and work. the water may be too chilly for swimming but the sun is still warm and restaraunts such as Pier 701 in Piermont, NY are still serving outside on their 'tropical beach!'

FINAL 'DocuVideo' MG Renovation (part 4) :
kitchen, sunroom, 3 baths, and more...
A Beautiful Solution!

We hope you have been following along with us each week via our
biz facebook page to see all of the weekly progress of this major renovation. If you missed anything, follow the link to see our successful journey!

Our team did a beautiful job fully renovating this residential kitchen utilized more like a commercial kitchen with a private chef who creates wonderful meals for this couple on a daily basis. Cork floors made from wine bottle tops, granite countertops and custom cabinetry in stained walnut were the special materials incorporated.

The Master Bath, Guest Bath and Powder Room was fully renovated with details such as remote controlled Toto toilets with washlets, vessel sinks and radiant heating in the floors.

A rarely used Sunroom became transformed into a year round relaxation space when the walls were removed to open up into the family room. The new Sunroom is now bright and sunny and has a view from the double sided gas fireplace with stonework added all the way up to the high ceiling. A new French door was installed between the Living Room and the Sunroom for easy access and for better entertainment flow.

Custom furnishings, window treatments, new rugs, lighting and artwork are the finishing touches to make this beautiful home a true respite for the homeowners (which is our current task). The final details will make the difference in tieing all of these decorative elements together!

Framing your artwork is another important finishing detail for your home. What you put on your walls truly completes the room and gives it that personal touch. Whether it is taking your favorite photograph and having it professionally matted and framed, or finding a vintage frame for a family heirloom, taking the time to present it well, will make all the difference.

And with all of these different frames to choose from, finding the perfect compliment is so easy!

New Certifications
by Denise Wenacur

As DW Design & Decor llc has been involved in large projects that include Renovations and additions, I have completed a Certification in
Construction Project Management
through New York State and Pace University. This knowledge will allow us to better serve our clients and maintain a steady flow through the production process.

I was fortunate to be paired with a very talented group of people in the class, working as a team on sample projects that ranged from designing a Stadium, to a mock Mediation. Here is a photo of our business group presenting to the class. By the way, we nailed it!

DW Design & Decor llc has also become registered in NYS as a WBE (woman owned business enterprise) and are halfway through our paperwork to become DBE (disadvantaged business enterprise). These certifications allow us to bid on government projects.
