Local Segments wins 2018 Telly Awards

We're so very proud that Blue Ridge PBS was presented with 2 prestigious Telly Awards this past month. We received a silver award for our Creative Virginia story with Jim Dodd, a wood strip canoe maker living in Botetourt County. His canoes are considered by many to be works of art and a true testament to well crafted pieces that not only belong in a gallery but more appropriately on the water. Watch it Here
Taking home a bronze Telly Award was our story on typewriter enthusiast, Mark Petersen of Christiansburg. Mark has nearly 200 vintage and historical typewriters in his collection. In fact, he uses many of the typewriters on a daily basis and prefers them over computers and smartphones as a form of communication.  Watch it Here

We are so excited to announce that Blue Ridge PBS' Kids channel is a complete success. The feedback we are receiving is overwhelming. The free, 24-hour channel known as "PBS Kids", provides child-friendly fare during prime-time and other periods that draw kids. The "PBS Kids" channel is also available online as a live stream on the pbskids.org website and on the PBS Kids video app for mobile devices and platforms such as Roku and Apple TV.
