Message from the Artistic Director
The Nutcracker is just around the corner!
Each year gets better and better; this year is no exception. Students have been working hard on new choreography, costumes (including new additions) are being fitted and everyone is full of excitement about the upcoming performances.
NHB is proud to present our family friendly production of the holiday classic,
The Nutcracker, at the
Shubert Theater,
December 9-11. From the thrill of hearing the theater filled with music by the New Haven Ballet Orchestra, lead by
Dr. Richard Gard, to the bell-like quality of singers from ECA ACES, lead by music chair, Amy Christman, to the students and Sugar Plum Fairy dancing, to myriad new surprises -- there is something to entice and enchant the entire family.
Tickets are available now. I look forward to seeing you at the theater!
With thanks,
Lisa Sanborn
Artistic Director

Guest Stars: Simone Messmer and Stephen Hanna
She is Miami City Ballet's star and prima ballerina -- the incomparable, Simone Messmer. We are delighted that Ms. Messmer has agreed to return to New Haven to reprise her role as the Sugar Plum Fairy in NHB's The Nutcracker.
If you happened to miss one of his incredible performances as principal dancer with New York City Ballet, you might have caught him in An American in Paris or Twyla Tharp's Come Fly Away on Broadway. Of course, we are referring to none other than, Stephen Hanna, who will be performing as the Cavalier in The Nutcracker, December 9-11, at the Shubert Theater.
Don't miss your chance to see these incredible dancers performing together only in New Haven Ballet's The Nutcracker.
