Sassy Stitches!

Happy Father's Day to my sweet daddy! He's funny, sarcastic, supportive, loving, and is one of my biggest fans. He used to write me letters while I was at camp and has the best shoulders to cry on.  He's an awesome Papa to my boys and always has the best bear hugs for everyone.  I love you, Daddy! Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there!  A special prayer lifted up for those who are missing their Dads.

Teresa has worked her magic once again!  Doesn't she do a fantastic job on our windows?  She certainly has a talent for decorating. I can't ever get good pictures without lots of glare. Guess you'll just have to come by the shop to really enjoy these awesome windows!  Thank you SEW much, Teresa, for your beautiful work!  It sure welcomes our customers to Sassy Stitches!

you're not in a club, just come sew! These days have been set aside for you to use our classroom and the supplies while you fellowship with others and work towards completing projects.   BUT . . . YOU MUST RESERVE A SPOT.  We are limiting the number of people to 10 on each of the sewing days so if you are interested you need to call and reserve your spot.  It's totally free!  But we only have room for so many so let us know you're coming and we will let you know if there is still room. You can get into the classroom at 9:45 and sew until 4:00!  WOW!
Staff can answer questions and help you briefly but they will be working on the floor taking care of other business. This is not class time so please be respectful of our staff members. You can order lunch or bring your own. Come sew with us!   Did I mention it's FREE ?!?!?

Janice Pope will be teaching a class at Sassy Stitches where she will share with you everything you need to know about binding.  You will need to bring something to bind so be thinking about that and make plans to save something just for this class!
Quilting since 1977, students attending her classes describe Janice as passionate, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and engaging. Whether teaching one of her simple quilt patterns, bag patterns, or a technique', novice as well as experienced quilters will leave with new insight and skills.
An award winning quilter who has taught both domestically and internationally, Janice resides in Raleigh, NC with her husband of 35+ years and enjoys having two of her six grandsons nearby. Check out her website at Anything But Boring.

Show & Tell
Lindi brought her Luminous to share.  This is one of my favorites!  I
love the Christmas fabric she picked.
Angie finished her quilt from the Sassy Strippers Club.  Stunning!

Check out this AWESOME Judy Niemeyer quilt made by Maddy.  WOW!!

Bonnie and her sweet granddaughter make quilts together.  Isn't that such a wonderful tradition? This beauty is backed with Cuddle fabric.  Ahhhhh!

Ryan's Case for Smiles
Our charity focus at Sassy Stitches is Ryan's Case for Smiles. This is an organization that provides fun pillowcases for sick children .  ALL of our donations will be used in Asheville, NC at Mission Children's Hospital. I volunteered for this charity for several years and have personally delivered pillow cases to kids at Mission Children's Hospital and assure you it brings great joy to sick children to pick out a fun pillowcase. When you read the story about Cindy and her son, Ryan, you will understand what a great cause this is. It's the perfect charity for anyone who sews! Here is a link to the organization's website.
We will accept pillowcases, fabric donations for making pillow cases and monetary donations. If you choose to make pillowcases, there are tips on the website (see link above) about making them. The volunteers who take the pillowcases wash them before delivery. Something so simple as a fun pillowcase really does bring a smile to a sick child.  THANKS!
