1917 King Motor Car
Donated by Frank and Reta Alberti
If you have heard of a King Motor Car you are one of the few who are in the know about this early US Automobile Manufacturer.
"The thing I like most about this car is it appeals to the grand kids, this vehicle is a great way to connect with new generations! And it is pleasing to look at and appeals to women ;-) "
says 98 year old Frank.
Believed to be one of 8 Kings left!
The Gift of Flight
Jack Kahle hands over the Coupe to Volunteer Ben Davidson
1940 Cub Coupe -
Note the original grill! What a great face
this bird has.
Why Smilin' Jack?
When you meet Jack Kahle you will immediately know. His smile is genuine and he is passionate about airplanes and flying them (as was the comic strip Smilin Jack of the 1930s)
This is the second aeroplane Jack and Farole Kahle have donated to WAAAM . Our new little Cub Coupes' restoration was completed by Kahle three years ago and its first flight was taken on the day she became a part of the WAAAM fleet of antique aircraft.

Zack Mosley (cartoonist - Adventures of Smilin' Jack) flew his J4 during The Great Migration of 1940 that was a major promotion by Gulf Oil and the manufactures of Cub, Taylorcraft and Aeronca. More than 600 small aircraft from around the nation flew to Flordia and the most amazing thing...each pilot was sent a "credit card" to be used for the fuel needed for their trip!
