It's Time to Renew
Your 2017-18 Membership!
WBI has many fun, interesting, and enjoyable events and activities planned for next year. From social action projects, such as Family Promise, programs that enrich your spiritual life, such as Rosh Chodesh, and just plain fun events, such as the annual Fall Fashion Show, your membership is a gift to yourself and to your community. WBI is an integral part of our congregation, and, through WBI's participation in the national organization Women of Reform Judaism, an important voice on the issues that you care about, such as immigration, refugees, women's equality, and reproductive rights.
If you haven't already done so, please renew your membership to WBI. Not yet a member? Not a problem. You can contact Linda Byrne, our Membership VP at
and she'll be happy to help you, or you can click on the
and follow the instructions for mailing your check.
If your employer has a corporate giving matching program, you can also sign up for membership with WBI this year using your company's corporate giving program. If your wish to do so, please contact Nora Makarczyk WBI Treasurer at 916-524-3151 or
WBI is registered with Benevity which reaches over 2 million employee donors. Chances are your company uses Benevity for their corporate giving program. Even if your company or organization has a corporate giving program other than Benevity, please contact Nora, so WBI can become a registered beneficiary.

Volunteers needed to help host the families!
Family Promise is a nonprofit organization committed to helping low-income families achieve lasting independence. During the day, the Family Promise Day Center, located in the Loaves & Fishes complex, provides a safe and secure haven for families, offering everything they need to feel at home - showers, laundry facilities, phone, mailing address, computers, and common eating and lounge areas. Each evening, Family Promise transports the families to the host congregation for that week. Each family is provided a private room with bedding, as well as common dinners and breakfasts all home-cooked by host congregation volunteers.
The host congregation also provides loving volunteers who welcome the guests, spend quality time with them and their children, and provide some recreational activities. We need volunteers for all the following:
Parent and child who can stay overnight
Cook a dinner for a night--pick a couple of friends and create a team
Commit to clean up on September 3, time TBA
Wash laundry at the end of the families stay
