4th Annual Soul of 2nd Street Festival

Mark your calendars for the 4th Annual Soul of 2nd Street Festival.  This community favorite event is an opportunity to celebrate our diversity as we gather to celebrate the once vibrant African-American business district that stood on 2nd Street through great music, food, and drinks.  The date is Saturday, August 4 at Constitution Square in downtown Danville.  For all updates, like our Facebook event page!

For the 4th Annual event, the festival planning committee has decided to continue with the focus of a community event, by inviting not just food vendors but also local artists, makers of wares and local businesses to come and showcase their products, goods and services during the festival.

Festival hours will be from 4pm-10pm on Saturday, August 4 with a special art exhibition beginning at 2pm.

If you, or someone you know, would be interested in participating in the festival, click here for the vendor application.

Mike Archer will be rocking the stage for May!  He is inspired by music he grew up listening to in both country and rock and by artists such as John Mellencamp, Jimmy Buffett, Jim Croce, and Bruce Springsteen.  In 2009 Mike recorded and released his first CD The Next Best Thing, his second CD released in 2014, Shoulda Coulda Woulda.  His latest release was a single of the cover song Rhinestone Cowboy in 2016.  Mike's musical talents have landed him jobs with Carnival and Disney Cruise Lines.  He has had the privilege to open for such artists as George Strait, Joe Diffie, Billy Joe Royal, B.J. Thomas, Reba McEntire, Lee Ann Womack, Daryle Singletary and most recently Martina McBride and Nadirah Shakoor.  We are thrilled to have him in downtown Danville.
