Cooking Matters at MediaThon
-
Dave
I want to acknowledge everyone who worked so hard, and donated so generously, to make the July 13th MIX 101.5/WRAL-TV #BackPackBuddies Mediathon such an amazing success! All of our childhood hunger programs will benefit from the $220,000 raised: BackPack Buddiesnutrition education, summer meals, and school pantries. Thanks to you we will expand child hunger programs in under-served rural areas in Edgecombe and Chatham counties, as well as in our urban counties. I also want to thank the Wake County Commissioners who funded the launch of 5 new school pantries in high schools across the county this upcoming school year. This is the power of the whole community -individuals, families, elected officials, businesses, media partners -- coming together to say "Hunger is unacceptable!" THANK YOU for making a difference for many children. Now let's keep it a priority to feed ALL hungry children in our area.

We're thankful for our friends at Inter-Faith Food Shuttle who care about what our clients eat! Inter-faith Food Shuttle delivers food to our food pantry multiple times a week, allowing us to purchase food for our clients at a fraction of the cost. Thanks to their dedication to nutrition, our clients enjoy fresh produce and frozen meats, along with other great foods. Thanks, Inter-Faith Food Shuttle for caring about what our clients eat! #ThankfulThursday
