It's Christmas in July!  

Pets In Need was one of seven organizations to win a $1000 donation from the
BISSELL Pet Foundation's Christmas in July contest on Facebook. Each day, from July 11 through 17, a Facebook fan was selected to receive a BISSELL product and was able to select a Partners for Pets member organization to receive a $1000 donation.  Pets In Need was selected by Christina, the day #4

Staff Spotlight
 
The incredible veterinarians at Pets In Need are supported daily by a team
of dedicated and compassionate veterinary technicians and assistants.

Katie Moore,  a graduate of the UC Blue Ash Veterinary Technology Program
is our Lead Registered Veterinary Technician. She is responsible for the team and spends much of her time tracking lab results, ordering supplies, preparing medications, and coordinating referrals. Katie is continuing her studies to become a licensed veterinarian. 

Our two veterinary assistants, Cortney Hogue and Kayla Sciutto,  gather patient histories, help the vets while the patient is in the exam room and follow through with the patient until the visit is complete. 

The three women work well as a team. According to Kayla, " We all know what needs to be done so whatever it is, one of us will always do it."

Note: Congrats to Kayla for passing her vet tech boards on July 22nd!

Wyoming Yappy Hour was a Hot Time

On July 20th, Pets In Need joined several other pet-related organizations in a celebration of dogs. Volunteer and Wyoming resident Jan Hughes represented Pets In Need as the Wyoming Village Green was transformed into a playground for dogs of all shapes, sizes, and breeds. Although the evening was very hot, an overcast sky and a light breeze helped keep everyone cool enough to have a great time.
