The 3rd Annual 1 Million Steps 4 OCD Walk in Boston takes place tomorrow morning at Jamaica Pond in Boston, and IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO WALK WITH US! On-site registration is open tomorrow morning, beginning at 8am. Please join with other members of the OCD community in the New England area as we come together to raise awareness about OCD and related disorders and raise vital funds that will help support the important programs of the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF). Bring your family and friends! This is a family-friendly event, so young children are definitely welcome (and strollers are allowed). Well-behaved dogs on a leash are welcome too, and they will be in good company with our canine Grand Marshals, Henry & Izzie! SCHEDULE:
- On-site registration and T-shirt pickup: 8:00am - 9:30am
- Opening Ceremonies: 9:30am
- Walk start: 10:00am
- Closing Ceremonies, awards, & raffle: 11:30am
- Walk ends: 12:00 noon
It looks like it's going to be a gorgeous day! But, because this is New England, please be aware that the Walk will proceed RAIN or SHINE! We suggest that you dress according to the weather as you leave for the event. You may want to dress in layers, as it may get warmer in the early afternoon. And, of course, be sure to wear your walking shoes! GETTING THERE: The Walk will take place at historic Jamaica Pond in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston. The Walk Start Line and Registration Area are located in front of the Boat House, which is located on the east side of the Pond at: 507 Jamaica Way, Boston, MA. (View on Google Maps). There is limited parking on the northwest side of the pond, and there is free street parking in the neighborhoods that surround the pond. However, if possible, we encourage you to use public transportation. The #39 bus travels from Back Bay Station (commuter rail and subway service) and stops 1 block from the walk start. You can use the MBTA Travel Planner to determine the quickest route to the walk from your location or use Google Maps. Please join us TOMORROW and, together, we will be part of #1Million4OCD.
