Shambhala SunThe Way of Shambhala
Sunday, June 17th 2:45pm

"There is a natural source of radiance and brilliance in the world, which is the innate wakefulness of human beings."

So said the founder of Shambhala, Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche. Join us for a teaching on the essence of this nature with teachers from the DC Shambhala Center -- Jayne Sutton, Christian Gregory and Jerry Webster.

Here's what the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa (he's the subject of the film that we screen after this session) said to a Shambhala delegation in 2004:

"Although Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche is not present in his body form, his activities and legacy will enable us to spread the dharma widely. Of all his teachings, the most unique -- above and beyond the rest -- were the Shambhala teachings. The teachings on Shambhala were something I used to enjoy in my childhood and I remember being intrigued by them. These teachings will be of great relevance to the world, as predicted. The Shambhala tradition, the practice you are currently engaged in, will definitely benefit the world to come."
BODHISATTVA

East Coast Premiere
Please join us for a rare screening of a film about one of the most important lamas in the world of Tibetan Buddhism. Many view the Karmapa to be the likely successor to the Dalai Lama as the new face of Tibetan Buddhism.

Director Mark Elliott will be present to answer questions from the audience.
