IT'S TIME TO WINTERIZE YOUR HOME

Here, in the Land of Extremes, where the weather can change lightning fast, be prepared when Jack Frost arrives by winterizing your home.
  • Tune-up the snow blower and find the shovel.
  • Have your furnace and humidifier cleaned and certified. Replace the furnace filter and humidifier pad.
  • Have the fireplace cleaned and inspected.
  • Replace batteries in your carbon monoxide detector.  It is recommended that detectors are located within 15' of EVERY bedroom.
  • Clean out your rain gutters.
  • Disconnect hose bibs.
  • Shut-off and blow out sprinkler system.
  • Shut-off crawl space vents.
  • Turn the air conditioner breaker to 'off' to prevent accidentally turning the unit on at low temperatures.
  • Fertilize the lawn and trim trees/shrubs, when dormant, to promote healthy growth in spring.
  • Place an ice scraper and emergency survival kit in the car.

TEACHING OUR CHILDREN THE IMPORTANCE OF GIVING THIS CHRISTMAS SEASON
The holiday season will be here before you know it.  Santa's Elves--Kids Giving to Kids, is a charity that was created by moms wanting to show their children the value of giving rather than receiving.  By adopting a family through Santa's Elves, you and your children can purchase gifts and personally deliver them to the family you have adopted at the Santa's Elves event on Saturday, December 12 .

This is a great way for children to learn the importance of giving while helping other children who might otherwise not receive any presents this holiday season.  Please help get the word out about this terrific charity and consider adopting a family for the holidays.
