STAR STUDENT

Dominic Netta
5th Grader
Westchase Elementary School

This year I had the opportunity to go to Muma JA BizTown with my class from Westchase Elementary School.  I loved my job as the Sales Manager for the Tampa Bay Lightning because I am a huge fan, and I wanted everyone to enjoy the games as much as I do!  I got to sell merchandise to the Lightning fans so they could show their pride for their team! Go Bolts!
I learned that I enjoy work when it is something that you are passionate about. I took my job seriously because I know if you don't do your job correctly it can cause the company to lose money.  I learned the value of money and was reluctant to spend it after working so hard to get it!  I realized that if I budgeted my money corectly,  I would be able to get everything I wanted.  Thank you JA!  I learned valuable lessons and had fun doing it!
WE LOVE OUR VOLUNTEERS!
On March 30th volunteers from TD Ameritrade and also WellCare donated their time and talent to make a difference in the lives of 5th grade students participating in JA BizTown.

ManpowerGroup Makes a Difference for Junior Achievement

As part of a national grant with JA USA, local volunteers from Manpower volunteered at JA BizTown  on February 24, and March 10, 2017. A total of 136 fifth graders from Davis Elementary, Schmidt Elementary and Tampa Day School benefitted from the time and talent given by these volunteers.
Student, Parker Sincome (Davis Elementary) was in charge of Customer Service at Sykes Enterprises and shared, "I answer the phone and take names of people who want to buy the newspaper.  I also work with the computer and help customers if they have problem with the computers in the businesses. I'm good at my job.  My job is great!"
Manpower associate, Joe Rath shared, "I had so much fun volunteering at JA BizTown this year.  What a valuable program this is to our Hillsborough County School students.  The importance of introducing business education at this point in their development is invaluable.  I am so happy to contribute to this worthwhile organization!"
