Barbara Becker
After many years of sitting on the cushion,  I felt like it was time to rise up and become engaged.  NYZCCC was an ideal match:  a place to learn, contribute and be in community.  I'm proud to call it my new spiritual home.

Natasha Dachos
I am a member of NYZCCC because Chodo, Koshin and the Sangha work together to create real community and actively practice the dharma through service.

Sky Khan
Seeing the progress and experiencing the impact this community has made in hospice over the years, has been one of the most rewarding things I've witnessed. Through NYZCCC I have experienced the power of community first hand.

Jesse Bercowetz
I have been sitting and studying at NYZCCC for over a year and it has been life changing. Chodo and Koshin have encouraged me to deepen my practice and I can feel their solid support as I continue on this radical path. It's an honor to be a member of  NYZCCC sangha and to do my part to support the center and our teachers. I am excited to be on the frontier with them-pushing boundaries, challenging each other, being present for others and ultimately "not knowing." I want see NYZCCC continue to thrive and I want to be apart of that growth.

We extend our hearts and offer our deepest sympathy to Pat Doen Daggy, a 2013 Foundations Student and NYZCCC Sangha member. Pat's son, Dr Aaron Daggy, passed away suddenly on December 6th and her partner, Herb Schoenberg passed on December 19th. We hold them all in our hearts and prayers.

A Message from Doen

To All of my NYZCCC Sangha brothers and sisters,

I find myself holding each of you in my heart this Christmas Eve. It is because of your unconditional love and support that I am able to embrace the dreadful blows December has given me, while also experiencing the joy of being here in this human form. The pain is almost unbearable; however, I hold gratitude as well. I am grateful that a beautiful young man chose me to be his mother. I am grateful that Herbie Schoenberg chose to spend his final chapter with me. I am grateful for each of you. You are teaching me the true meaning of the - "The Buddha, the dharma, and the sangha". What a gift!!!
Thank you our practice!
Blessings and Bows.
NYZCCC IN THE NEWS
On December 20, Koshin and Chodo received Shiho from their beloved teacher, Sensei Dorothy Dai En Friedman, in the lineage of Taizan Maezumi Roshi. Thanks to Rabbi  Hanniel Levenson  &  Todd Goldman  for bearing witness. May the merits of this entrustment continue to serve the sangha. Only together can we learn to love and heal.
