JARI Announces Board Appointments

JARI Chairman Bill Polacek recently welcomed new JARI board members: Bob Eyer, Wessel & Company; Mike Price, First Commonwealth Bank; Jeff Stopko, AmeriServ Financial; Tyler Trimbath, Community Elf; and Steve Tucker, Conemaugh Health System.

 

Officers elected for 2015 include:  Bill Polacek, JWF Industries - Chairman; Bill Locher, Somerset Trust Company - First Vice Chairman; Matt Smith, Laurel Auto Group - Second Vice Chairman; Dr. Tom Foley, Mount Aloysius College - Secretary; Becky Styles, Lockheed Martin Aeroparts - Assistant Secretary; and John Boderocco, H. F. Lenz Company - Treasurer.

 

Kevin Persio, Smorto, Persio, Webb and McGill, was elected to an additional term.  Returning members are Mike Kane, Community Foundation for the Alleghenies; Craig Saylor, Somerset Hospital; and Jimma Raco, RNDT.

 

Jeff Cramer, 1st Summit Bank, was named Chairman of the Johnstown Industrial Development Corporation (JIDC) Board of Directors.  Working with Jeff on the JIDC Board are: Jim Huerth, AmeriServ Financial; Jackie Kulback, Gautier Steel; Melissa Menie, Advanced Shipping Technologies; Mike Stevens, Somerset Trust Company; Kevin Volk, Northwest Savings Bank; Kathleen Wallace, Catanese Group; and Stephen Zamias, Zamias Services.  Joining them as newly appointed JIDC directors are:  John Reed, Walnut Management; Dave Roberts, Concurrent Technologies Corporation; Bill Uhlig, First Energy/Penelec; and Joel Valentine, Wessel & Company.

 

Mr. Polacek recognized these retiring JARI board members: Scott Becker, Conemaugh Health System; Kim Kunkle, Laurel Holdings; Elmer Laslo, 1st Summit Bank; Ed Sheehan, Jr., Concurrent Technologies Corporation; and Glenn Wilson, former CEO of AmeriServ. Outgoing JIDC Board members: Mike Barletta, Crown American Associates; Dr.Jim Greco, Cambria/Somerset Authority; Mark Parseghian, Concurrent Technologies Corporation; and Greg Winger, First National Bank were also recognized. 

Introduction to Government Contracting Workshop

The JARI PTAC, in conjunction with the Somerset County Economic Development Council and the Somerset County Chamber of Commerce, will be holding an informational workshop on Tuesday, March 24th, 2015 in the Somerset Rural Electric Cooperative meeting room, located at 223 Industrial Park Road, Somerset, PA 15501.  Registration will open at 9:45 am with the workshop beginning at 10:00 am.  The workshop will include a presentation that focuses on getting started in government contracting and will include information on resources that are available, required registrations and how to look for opportunities.  Ample time will be allowed for questions.
