- The Co-chairs of the budget-writing Joint Committee on Finance, State Senator Alberta Darling (R-River Hills) and State Representative John Nygren (R-Marinette) issued the following statement regarding Wisconsin's budget projections:
"Despite global economic instability, Wisconsin's budget remains in the black. It's clear that our state is on solid ground. Personal income continues to grow at a healthy pace in our state.
"We have prioritized and helped strengthen the middle class by ensuring taxpayers keep more of their hard earned money. It's their money, not ours.
"As Governor Walker pointed out during his State of the State address, the Wisconsin comeback is real. Our reforms are working and we look forward to our state's continued success in the future."
