During the week in 1999....
Angela Warnick Buchdahl was invested as the first Korean-American Cantor in the world. Born in Seoul, South Korea to a Korean Buddhist mother and an American Ashkenazi Jewish father, Buchdahl was raised in a Jewish home and was ultimately ordained as a Cantor, and later a Rabbi, by Hebrew Union College. She currently serves as a Senior Cantor of Central Synagogue in New York.
