              JLTV to Broadcast
         115th Celebration Event
         from Basel, Switzerland

HerzlOn August 29, 1897, one of World Jewry's most profound events occurred - over 200 supporters of the movement to create a Jewish homeland gathered together in the Swiss city of Basel.  Three Americans traveled weeks, each way, to participate and become part of history and a significant Christian contingent joined the celebration. In 1997, Jewish Life produced a book, a one-man play, a song and a TV Special that motivated thousands of people to attend the Centennial Celebration in Basel.  Fifteen years later, on August 29-30, 2012, JLTV will produce this summer's event focusing on the 115th Anniversary.  Leaders from across America, Canada, Europe, Israel and other communities will meet at the same hall that Theodor Herzl assembled his followers to create the inspiring movement.  Academy-award winning actor Maximilian Schell will read the prophetic words of the founder of Zionism.  Herzl was a mere 44 years old when he died at the peak of his leadership.

Celebrate Israel
On this day, April 23rd in 1969....

KennedySirhan Sirhan was sentenced to death for killing Presidential Candidate Bobby Kennedy, moments after he had all-but-clinched the Democratic Presidential nomination with a win in California's 1968 primary.  The young Palestinian claimed that he shot Kennedy because he was a supporter of Israel.  Sirhan Sirhan's sentence was later commuted to life in prison.  He still is serving his sentence.
