Corn Growers: This event was highlighted in our August newsletter. An agenda of the day's events is included in this e-mail.

Senator Pat Roberts will kick off the morning session followed by Kevin Van Trump, who is a popular market analyst for Ag Web and Farm Journal as well as his own Farm Direction service. Other morning topics range from crop insurance, cattle, crops and ethanol. After the morning session, we'll break for a free barbecue lunch.

The afternoon session is all corn, focusing on corn efficiency, drought tolerance, irrigation management and more. Our Afternoon Corn Session features industry reps from Pioneer, Syngenta and Monsanto speaking about drought tolerant traits and programs to increase efficiency and production of corn. We'll have an update from K-State Irrigation Researcher Freddie Lamm, and results of a new Corn Efficiency Study from K-State Ag Economist Dan O'Brien with a corn grower panel. We'll wrap up the day with a Q&A session followed by a reception at 4 p.m.

We are excited about this event and believe it will be a great opportunity to highlight agriculture and corn in Kansas!

There is no charge for this event--lunch and an afternoon reception are included. If you are planning to attend, we would appreciate it if you would respond to this e-mail to help with a headcount for lunch. However, walk-ins are welcome--you can register the day of the event.
