What does an educator do over the summer? Here at JQuest B'Yachad we have focused on feedback from last year, reviewed student achievements, met with teachers and lay leaders, and we are now setting goals for year two.
These goals include:
Deepening the connection felt by students and families to each other, to their congregations, and to Jewish learning.
Strengthening our educational achievements in both Hebrew and Judaic Studies
Simplifying our structure and logistics for families
Thank you for your guidance, input, and feedback as we embark on Year 2.
Ana Apter and Stacy Rigler will be working together to share the leadership of the school.
On Sundays, the two directors will rotate locations so either one of us will be able to help you throughout the day on Sunday.
During the week Ana Apter will be focusing on:
supervising our teachers
overseeing the implementation of our curriculum
supporting our special needs students
coordinating our whole school programs
managing our JQuest B'Yachad communications
guiding our teen madrichim
Rabbi Stacy Rigler will be focusing on:
ensuring parents and students feel connected to JQuest B'Yachad
working on the overall vision of the program
consulting with our lay leaders and clergy to ensure we are meeting the highest educational standards and synagogue expectations
facilitating smooth integration between JQuest B'Yachad and the congregations
Summer Teacher Learning
Over the summer our teachers are deepening their pedagogy.
Hebrew teachers are focusing on the latest research on how to ensure maximum achievement in the area of decoding.
Quest teachers are learning about inspirational models of project-based learning and how it is being used across the country.
Throughout the year, our teachers will participate in weekly study of T'fillot and monthly Hebrew and Judaic enhancement, as well as working together to focus on classroom connections and student engagement.
