Great reading at the Piccabeen Bookshop

Our little shop is bursting at the seams with a range of good
books, and there is always new stock to choose from. The
funds generated by this shop
are crucial in supporting our
work financially. Our volunteer staff are very friendly: do drop
in to say hello and buy a book
or two.

Extending our Biodiversity Corridors
Icon for Save Trees message

We've just received exciting news! Our recent application for funds for the Tamborine Mountain/Skywalk Biodiversity Corridor Project through the Queensland Government Environmental Grants scheme has been approved. $20,000 will be available for regeneration of the area next to the easement / driveway into Skywalk. (This is not on Skywalk property itself.) Most of the work will be carried out by our contractors, but the community will be invited to participate in a couple of community tree planting days later in the year.

This project will add to the significant ecological restoration work already carried out by the Skywalk owners over many years, resulting in more than 15ha of healthy, sustainable, rehabilitated rainforest. Our new project will add to the biodiversity of the forest in the area, and will enhance our major Corridors Regeneration Project.

National Tree Day: Sunday 30th July

We'll be marking the occasion at the Landcare Centre on Hartley Rd from 9am. Watch this space for more details closer to the day... Meanwhile, plan to bring along friends and neighbours, children and grandchildren for a morning's community planting.
