Embarking on a Year of Growth
Dear Salisbury Academy Families,

We are incredibly excited to kick off the celebration of Salisbury Academy's 25th year! This promises to be a year filled with growth for all of our students as we embrace opportunities for continued advancement of the Salisbury Academy programming and mission! We embark on this journey with a pledge to you, our students and parents, that this will be a year of engaging, meaningful work in our classrooms, combined with special events and a variety of extracurricular activities, performances, and athletic teams certain to encourage our Jaguars to be involved and stay connected!

During the 2017-18 school year, we will continue to build upon and refine our goals to ensure that all students become critical thinkers, active problem-solvers, inquisitive readers, diligent researchers and skilled writers. We do all of this so that our students become future leaders who positively impact our community and the world at large.

Our staff of highly qualified professional educators and support personnel is committed to providing our students many opportunities both inside and outside of the classroom. We look forward to a very positive and productive year together! We extend a special, year-long invitation to our families to join us at school activities and events whenever possible. We want . . . we need . . . and we value your involvement and support in your child's education! Your active participation is key to the success of your student during their journey with us.

We can't wait to welcome everyone back at our Family Drop-In Night on Monday and share with you all of the exciting opportunities that await you for the school year!

With excitement for the year ahead,

Beverly Fowler, Head of School

Middle School Matters
Dear Middle School Families,

We look forward to welcoming you back this week! I hope everyone had a summer full of family, friendship, and fun times. This will be the seventh year that I will have the privilege of working at Salisbury Academy. I knew this was a special place the day I started with Mrs. Williams in the second grade classroom. Over time, I transitioned into the role of middle school teacher, and this year, I will also serve as the middle school division director. Our team is a dynamic and energetic group of teachers who are committed to our students. The mission statement of Salisbury Academy calls on us to be student-centered and passionate about learning, and our middle school team is strongly dedicated to that mission.

Please mark your calendars for our middle school Back to School Night on September 19 from 6 - 8 p.m. Our middle school overnight trip to Camp Hanes will be on September 21 and 22. More details to come soon.

Please stay tuned to this section of the Jag Weekly for middle school updates throughout the year. We are excited to see those smiling faces on Wednesday morning!

Sincerely,

Jessica Goodman
