Seventh and eighth grade art students worked collaboratively to make two portraits of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Each student created their small piece independently and then compiled the squares to create the finished portraits. MLK quotes between the two portraits were scripted by Mrs. Shelton's calligraphy exploratory.

Excited to Welcome Back our Families for 2018-2019: Reserve your spot
Dear Salisbury Academy Families:

As we continue to celebrate our 25th year together, we also look ahead to the 2018-2019 school year with great anticipation. Timely knowledge of our student enrollment allows us to most effectively plan delivery of the Salisbury Academy program for the upcoming school year.

Priority enrollment for current families begins on January 16. As part of our continuous enrollment process, your student will be automatically re-enrolled with the return of your enrollment deposit by February 14. With many of our classes at capacity and with wait pools, we encourage you to submit your re-enrollment fee by the deadline to secure your child's place for 2017-2018. Please look for details regarding our tuition structure and fees in your child's folder this week.

A quote from our recent survey really affirmed the value of a Salisbury Academy education. One of our students shared:

"Salisbury Academy is so much more than a school. Once you come to SA, you're a part of a family."

We are so glad you have chosen Salisbury Academy as an extension of your family and look forward to our continued partnership in providing your child with a world-class education that builds curiosity, community, and character.

Sincerely,

Beverly Fowler, Head of School

MLK Chapel Speaks on Courage and the MLK Legacy
In her presentation to SA students, faculty, and staff at this week's MLK Chapel, Pastor Debra Ellison of At the Cross Ministries asked a simple yet vital question: Who will?

"Who will tell the truth? Who will show compassion to others? Who will do what is right, even when it is the hard path?" Ellison asked after an inspiring reflection on her own life journey and that of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

In response, students, staff, and community members present stood together in affirmation of their dedication to being people of positive change. The audience then joined in a unison and determined, "We will!"

Ellison spoke on the courage it takes to work towards equality, compassion, and a better world, as well as on the great hope and promise that she sees in the Salisbury Academy community and beyond.

"Among you I see teachers, I see senators, I see scientists...," she said, sharing that each and every person has the potential to be exceptional and to live out the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Middle School Matters
