SA Summer Camp 2017
Dear Salisbury Academy Parents:

Salisbury Academy is excited to present a revised summer camp offering based on the feedback from our parents.  Under the direction of Penny Moss, we will offer a full-day and half-day option for students in rising first through sixth grades this summer.

More information will be available soon on our website and summer camp flyer. The program will include activities both on campus and around our community that are developmentally appropriate for this age group. Summer camp will begin the week of June 5 and run until August 4. We will not offer any camps the week of July 4.

With a full day price of $130 per week and half-day option of $80 per week, we think this format will allow our parents to pick and choose which weeks they need childcare while enjoying some of the other community offerings that summer provides.

With multiple on-site staff, exciting daily activities, and field trips to local parks, community service organizations, and more, your child is set to enjoy a summer of fun on the campus they know and love with people who are familiar to them.

For more information, please contact Penny Moss.  Look for a more detailed flyer and website announcement in early February.

Sincerely,

Beverly Fowler, Head of School

Fourth grade students held a full African market this week! The marketplace simulated the lively economic and cultural trading city of Timbuktu. Students wore traditional African kentos and displayed their market wares while trading with classmates.

The class has been traveling through time, visiting ancient and medieval African civilizations including the Kush, Axum, Ghana, Mali, and Songhai empires.

To board the magic carpet that transports them back in time, students made passports to use in each kingdom visited.  Passports included a stamp that marks the historic date and city visited. Students are lucky enough to have the king sign their passports also!

After disembarking the magic carpet, students complete a chart that compares the natural resources, times, geographic features, and religious beliefs of the kingdoms.
