Kidsbloom Block Party: Made possible by our amazing parent volunteers
Dear Salisbury Academy Families:

Friday's Kidsbloom Block Party brought with it a super turnout and loads of laughter and fun. Dark and cloudy as it was outside, the school was vibrant and filled with joy!

A heartfelt thank you goes out to Kidsbloom chair Alice Rich and her team of Gwen Pendleton, Jennifer and John Arnez, Kristen Barber, Kristen Colwell, and Traci and Brad Williams for a fantastically executed event. To the many volunteers who helped serve food, secure auction items, park cars, set up, clean up, and other key tasks for the event, we are so thankful and couldn't have done it without you.

The excitement and energy will continue over the coming weeks as we look forward to our SA Talent Show, the eighth grade chapel, Field Day and graduation. We couldn't do any of these without our amazing parent volunteers. On behalf of the students, faculty, and staff, we say THANKS for your ongoing help and commitment to our school.

Sincerely,

Beverly Fowler, Head of School

Native American Experiences and History
SA teacher Kim Petty shares:

Third-graders finished their study of Native Americans early this week. The study included Southwest and Eastern Woodlands tribes.

After students made models of Native American villages, Hopi style pottery, "silver" jewelry, Wampanoag head pieces, and gathered other artifacts, we invited the Junior Kindergarteners to a Pow-Wow. Together, we participated in games, story-telling, a readers theater, samples of Native American fare, and a rain dance. Third-graders seized the opportunity to share with their JK buddies particular items they had made that represented their learning.
