PSA Appreciation
Dear Salisbury Academy Families:

On behalf of the students, staff, and parents of Salisbury Academy, please join me in expressing our appreciation to the fantastic work and support that our PSA (Parents of Salisbury Academy) association provided this year.  As you can see by the photos of our new outdoor classroom, the funds and helping hands from the recent Spruce-Up Day are already being enjoyed by our students and staff.  We also just wrapped up an amazing week of Teacher Appreciation where staff and faculty were treated to a variety of salads, meals, desserts, tokens of appreciation, and more!  The encouragement this provides as we kick off our busiest month of the year is hard to put into words.  It was best seen in the smiles on each face last week.  Thank you!

We would like to express our thanks to our outgoing PSA officers - Amy Wilson, Teen Aron, Teresa Rowell, and Traci Williams.  Thank you for your outstanding leadership and time that you so graciously gave this year.  The meetings were well attended with a variety of grade levels represented each month.

The officers for next year are already busy at work to continue and build upon the 2017-2018 school year. Please join me in thanking Teen Aron, President; Melissa Heilig, Vice-President; Dana Walser, Secretary; and Diana Dandro, Treasurer for their commitment to serving our school.

We invite each of our parents to join in the important work that PSA provides to our school community!

Sincerely,

Beverly Fowler, Head of School

Cinco de Mayo: A learning fiesta!
Lower school students enjoyed a special visit from Salisbury High School teacher Yasmin Harris's "Spanish 3" students in honor of Cinco de Mayo! High School students led SA's lower school through a series of stations including sombrero making, a piñata, the limbo, and decorating Cinco de Mayo treats.

As each lower school class joined the festivities, the high school students led them through a presentation on the holiday Cinco de Mayo. Originally declared as a day to celebrate the Mexican Army's victory over the French in 1862, Cinco de Mayo today has evolved into a celebration of the Mexican and Mexican-American cultures as a whole.

"We were thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with Salisbury High School for this fun event," said SA Spanish teacher Hannah Lewis. "When older students can learn by teaching and the younger students are exposed to new ideas it's a win for all!"
