Director Scott Harris Addresses Order of Descendants of Colonial Cavaliers
The Order of Descendants of Colonial Cavaliers is composed of persons who can trace their lineage back through ancestors who remained loyal to Kings Charles I and Charles II during the era of the English Civil War and Interregnum, and who owned at least 1,000 acres of land in Virginia during the years 1640-1660. The ODCC annual meeting was held March 14-16 in Fredericksburg. Director Scott Harris delivered the gala address after a formal dinner in the studio of Belmont, the Gari Melchers Home and Studio. The text of the address, titled "The Interregnum's Influence on James Monroe," may be found here. |
New Membership Levels
In response to several requests, we have added a $200 level to the Friends of the James Monroe Museum. Ambassadors will receive the regular membership benefits, plus can take a private, guided tour of the museum and archives.
Also, Presidential members ($1,000 and up) will now be invited to an annual donor appreciation reception at Brompton, the home of the UMW president, in May, along with donors to the other University arts organizations.
See our membership levels, join, or renew your membership!
