James N. Long  1929 - 2016
James N. Long, 87, of Wadsworth, went home to be with Our Lord on Saturday, November 26, 2016.   He was born on March 27, 1929, to the late Eugene and Rose Long in Wadsworth, Ohio, where he lived all of his life.

James worked at the Ohio Match Co. as an electrician, and continued to work as an electrician until he retired in 1994.   He was life-long member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was very dedicated parishioner.   He loved spending time building things, enjoying a good chocolate bar but, more importantly, spending time with his family.   He was a very loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law Dan Berlin.

He is survived by the love of his life, Mary Ellen (Dressler) Long, whom he married on June 12, 1948, and spent 68 wonderful years.   Together they raised nine children:  Vickie Conley, Marilyn Long, Christine Berlin, Julie (Terry) Carr, Darla (Ken) Fletcher, Jill (Alex) Niemocienski, James (Vicki) Long, Steve Long and Angie Long;  20 grandchildren;  31 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.   He will be loved, missed and remembered by all of his family, including his dogs Snickers and Twizzlers.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11AM Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 272 Broad St. Wadsworth, Ohio.   In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
